Alhamdulillah, we have been blessed with another month of Ramazan. And seeing as how this year the holy month greets us in very hot temperatures and long days, it’s important to start the day with a healthy and fulfilling meal. A meal that can keep you going through those long hours. Now, Ramazan is probably the only time in the year when all restaurants are open throughout the night, welcoming ‘rozedaars’ with their scrumptious sehri menus. For my Lahori friends out there, here are five places (in no particular order) where you can enjoy the best sehris in the city:
Tabaq
Located on McLeod Road, Tabaq offers a sehri buffet for just Rs. 880 per person. The variety of dishes in the menu is mouthwatering, and include: Chicken Karahi, Chicken Tawa Qeema, Nihari, Hareesa, Paaye, Channay, Omelette, Tandoori Paratha, naan and yogurt.

Pair these dishes with their lassi or chai, and you’re good to go for the day. Their halwa and kheer are absolutely divine and a personal recommendation for those that love to indulge in sweet things at sehri.
Important: Tabaq only offers sehri deals on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. But it’s one experience we recommend you don’t miss out on.
Monal
One of the newest restaurants in town, Monal sees the owners attempting to copy the original Islamabad Monal’s structure by arranging the eatery at the top of a building, giving customers a rooftop view of Lahore city. It doesn’t have the same feel as that of it’s Islamabad counterpart, but the view is still pretty cool, and has gained quite a lot of popularity since it’s opening.

Monal provides sehri deals seven days a week, and the main course includes Murgh Channay, Mutton Palak, Tawa Qeema, Seekh Kebab, omelettes, Aalu Anday, Aalu Walay Parathay, Qeemay Walay Parathay, kulchas, bread and butter. Drinks on offer include chai and lassi. They also offer halwa puri and sooji ka halwa for dessert. The sehri will cost you Rs. 790 (plus taxes) per person.
Dera Restaurant
I may be obsessed with this place. Located near Qaddafi Stadium, I always feel it has something unique to offer foodies. This Ramazan, Dera Restaurant has introduced a special sehri buffet at just Rs. 650 per person. The main course includes halwa puri, Mutton Qeema Mutter, Mutton Palak, Chicken Karahi, Murgh Channay, Mixed Vegetables, omelettes, Aalu Walay Parathay, Chicken Parathas, Roghni naan, roti and yogurt. I have to make a special mention of their incredible chai and lassi!

The restaurant offers all the dishes from their usual menu at the sehri buffet. The restaurant is famous for its barbecue, as the name suggests, and you can enjoy the restaurant’s services from 11pm up till sehri.
Hardees
Hardees has a nice sehri deal on offer as well. This includes 3 burgers, 2 fries, 3 drinks and 1 orange drink. The deal is intended for for three people, and comes out to Rs. 450 per person. It’s one of the most money-saving deals in town for people who want to continue enjoying fast food during Ramazan.
