Ah, Mother’s Day! That one day where you get to show your mom some of that extra love (apart from her birthday of course).
I used to make my mom some brownies at home, or just buy her a gift. But a few years ago, when fondant and decorated cakes became all the rage, I joined the bandwagon. It’s a great way to express your feelings, and you can couple these cakes or cupcakes with a card, some ribbons and creativity. Trust me, just a little bit of your decorative skills will melt your mother’s heart instantly.
Here are a few great places to order from:
Buttercream Cupcakes
These guys were among the first to step into the confectionery business in the twin cities. They specialize in buttercream toppings and do fondant cakes really well.

They can do just about any version of a themed cake you can think of. I ordered my first Mother’s Day cake from these guys, and I still can’t forget how beautiful and delicious it turned out to be. Apart from cakes, they also offer themed cupcakes which are really cute. It’s always nice to order a set of 3 cupcakes that go with the cake’s theme.
Baker’s Kraft
Baker’s Kraft, located in Phase- 8 of Bahria Town, is known for providing some of the best themed cakes with fondant artwork. No matter what you want on the cake, name it and they design it. I personally ordered both a cheesecake and a custom Mother’s Day themed cake from them.

Both were among the best in town in my opinion. The fondant used is of high quality, with lively colors. The overall work on the cakes is usually quite neat. Even the taste of the cake was surprisingly good, unlike most fondant cakes which look beautiful outside but have a disappointing taste. Apart from fondant cakes, they also make firni, doodh dulari, and kulfi (in case you want to throw mom a real party).
Midnight Bakes
Midnight Bakes is run by an amazing cook who manages to fulfill orders from a house in Sector F-10/3. The owner of this home-based bakery is known to a relative of mine, who always speaks of how much effort she puts into making each order she receives into the best cake yet. She is an amazing baker with a unique aesthetic sense.

Her specialties include Mini Almond Cupcakes, Decorated Cookies, Nutella Swirl Brownies, Marble Cakes and Mocha Chocolate Chunk Cookies. She makes wonderful use of buttercream, which is why, I strongly recommend ordering the Chocolate Cupcakes with Buttercream. Your mom will love them!
